With a legacy beginning in 1902, Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College has a strong tradition of educating health care professionals.

Goldfarb School of Nursing is located on the Washington University Medical Campus in St. Louis and is affiliated with Barnes-Jewish Hospital, with a second site at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Goldfarb is a private nursing college that enrolls over 650 students in its baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degree programs. Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Simulation Director is responsible for advancing and integrating technology – facilitated teaching/learning within the simulation department.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Creates a simulation plan to maximize utilization of resources. Assesses the rigor of each simulation experience in order to ensure achievement of student learning outcomes.
  • Researches and promotes the adoption of creative and emerging trends in clinical, instructional simulation and multi-media technologies. Evaluates the teaching/learning effectiveness of the various simulation scenarios to ensure quality of academic rigor throughout the curriculum.
  • Collaborates with faculty, simulation team and leadership to design and enhance simulation experiences for the students, to promote scholarly work and to achieve accreditation status.
  • Educates staff and faculty on new products that will enhance the simulation department in order to align with the mission of the College.
